Let's Bowl!

So, in my last post, I mentioned that I would tell you about this amazing guy that I have the honor to call my boyfriend! (I love that word, hehe)

Let me just tell you, this guy....words can't even describe how amazing it feels to have him by my side....sappy right? Well, if you don't like sappy, stop reading now because there is bound to be a ton sappy things said in this post. :P

....seriously, if you are not a fan of sappy love stories, romance, or anything of the kind.....go ahead and click that little back arrow or that little x to close the window......BUT if you do enjoy those types of things...keep reading!! :)

HOW WE FIRST MET
I was down visiting my cousin, Kat, at their new house down in Louisiana for a week this past summer. We wanted to do something fun to get out of the house and she suggested bowling. I was like, "Yes! I haven't gotten to go bowling since ours burned down." So I was up for it. She then proceeds to tell me her friend Ian and his brother are going to be there, so I was elated to meet some new people. Little did I know that our first encounter would be the start of something wonderful
After we bowled 3 games we decided to head out to get coffee and beignets and hang out. It was a lot of fun, even though I got powdered sugar down my dress top, not gonna name names. (Kat, I will get you back >.>)
Anyway, after the whole hang out, I added him on facebook because I thought he was really neat and it'd be cool to get to know him. A few days later he accepted my request and then things went quiet. But, not for long.....

OK...sooo this one wasn't as sappy as I thought it was going to be, but I didn't want to throw a TON of stuff out at once!

To Be Continued...

Some catching up to do!

I know it's been a good looong while since I last posted, but things have been c-r-azy (in a good way)!

Hmm, to sum it all up...I'm finally at the end of Fall semester of my senior year here and it has been a trip! I've grown so much spiritually and mentally these past few months and it's been a pretty amazing trip.

Since it is my Senior Year, I'm doing my student teaching and I have been placed in one of the best schools and classrooms I could have ever asked for :) I love those little second graders, they have taught me so much the past few months and I can't wait to see them again after winter break! I also admire my Clinical Instructor I've been placed with, she is definitely an awesome teacher! I don't want to forget the other two awesome C.I's I had in my Junior year, they have all been such inspirations and I couldn't be more blessed! I can only aspire to be half as great as these 3 women have been!

Anyway...before I get all sappy...

This coming week is FINALS WEEK.....DUN DUN DUN! But I got this under control! I WILL conquer all 4 of these tests!

I want to wish all of my fellow peers out there good luck on all of their finals!!

Here's a little verse for you to think of when you're sitting in your chair waiting for the test to be passed around or as your in the library or your room studying:

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10

Oh [side note] when I have some extra time on my hands...I'll tell you about this awesome guy I've fallen in love with ;)

Dress Up Time!

I have recently gotten the joy to babysit a certain lil girl (I'm not sure if I can technically say she's lil because she is 11...but that's lil in my book) and she is hysterical!

Yesterday was the 3rd time I've gotten to "hang out" (as she calls it) with her and it was the most interesting time I've ever experienced while babysitting...well there was that one time where the girl screamed...that's another terrifying story for later...

Anyway...yesterday she was bored because she had been home all day so she had thought about going over to her friend's house, BUT she came up with a completely random idea...and you will never guess what came out of this girl's mouth...

"Let's have a doggie wedding!"

Yep, she seriously said that! I was a little hesitant because after that phrase, she headed straight for her mother's fabric/sewing/art room to find material. We were going to make the clothing.

I bet you can guess the look that probably came over my face when she said this... O.O  <-me

But, then she described how she made the clothing, so I relaxed a bit, but still...we were using her mom's fabric, and I had to trust that this little girl was allowed to use the fabric she used. All I could keep thinking was: "This is going to be interesting...for sure!"

She dressed up in one of her father's old suits (this was adorable! It was too big for her but she looked so cute!) and I was wrapped in some sparkly blue fabric and the ceremony commenced!!
-music and all-

The bride was dressed in an original Krista design with a pink veil and the groom was in an original Clementine design with a hat borrowed from another stuffed animal. It was honestly the most precious thing I've ever been a part of! We danced at the after party with the bride and groom and ended the night watching Crocodile Dundee.

Awesome night. Awesome girl. Awesome doggie wedding. :)

Bowties Are Cool

Summer school is finally out!
(ok, so it's been out since last wednesday, but still)

Since I now have so much free time, I honestly don't know what to do with myself.
It's quite pitiful if you ask me. A girl who doesn't know what to do with herself until school starts...and actually waiting for it to begin again...

I have some serious issues - don't judge.

Since I have absolutely no idea what to do with myself, I turn to the next best thing - watching tv shows on Netflix. Yes, I know, too much tv...blah blah blah.

Just let me explain myself

I have discovered (ok, technically I didn't discover this, but just hear me out) a tv show that has grabbed my attention and won't let go, and I don't want it to. I swear I'm in love, but again it is just a show. Only those that understand, would have guessed by now just reading the title of this blog, and yes, you're right! The name of that show is:

It has fascinated me in every episode! It's extraordinary!! Absolutely brilliant! You should seriously look into it, I'm not trying to make you into a fan, but if you love sci-fi movies/shows/anything then you might really enjoy watching the story unfold!

David Tennant, if you're reading this, you were my favorite! I absolutely loved your take on the doctor and I was sad when you regenerated, but Matt Smith, you're doing a great job!!

I am now a Doctor Who fan and plan to convert my friends (just a little warning)

Disclaimer: I was not manipulated in any way to write this review of Doctor Who, this is just my honest opinion. Just making sure that all of you know that I will not in any way try to manipulate you into watching this show.*

*I lied, you have to watch it. At least one episode. Please :)

My "Sexy" Voice

Yesterday, as I was singing loudly in my car, I felt like my voice actually sounded amazing and was matching the ones in every song!! (well, almost every song)

I laughed to myself, as my voice went in and out (refer to this) and as I sang at the top of my lungs, as I kept thinking to myself, "my voice is sexy!!" The episode of FRIENDS* where Phoebe gets sick and she acquires her sexy voice kept coming to mind as I sang the lyrics to every song my iPhone played.

So, I now claim my "sick" voice as my "sexy" voice. Those of you who have heard me in person may not agree, but once you hear me belt out a tune in my car, you will surely understand! (or not, whatever, you're just jealous)

*If you have never seen an episode of FRIENDS...you are dead to me. Just kidding, but seriously, go check it out! You will laugh your butt off! I have currently been watching my box set of seasons (1-10) the past week and a half! (Currently on season 7)

Allergic To Summer

So, it's only been a week since I've been done with finals....but I haven't gotten to enjoy the freedom as much as I would've liked.

Why? You ask...well let's see:

1. Wisdom teeth were removed day after finals -passed out for 3 days straight*
2. Been doing house work for the parents [only because I'm an awesome daughter]
3. My sleeping schedule is completely messed up...been living off 3 hours of sleep a day

and now...

I'm sick!

With what? I have no idea. At all. The only thing I can think of is...well I can't think of a reason, really. Maybe I can blame it on the amazing weather we've been having, but that would just be a cruel thing to do, but there's no other thing I can think of.
Maybe it's because I haven't had to worry/stress about anything since finals have finished, so my body is just taking this time to say "hey, it's recoup time!"

not cool, man, not cool

So far, my summer has been filled with tissues, sneezes, and coughs. I'm trying to make the best of it, but it's hard to when my nights and days are messed up and the lack of sleep isn't helping with the healing process. Ok, now I'm just rambling.

Sadly, I really only have one week left of sheer 'nothing to do' bliss before summer school starts back up...so I'm going to try my best to look at the bright side of things, take meds, and try and get well before I have to start studying again.

I hope all of you are enjoying your summer more than I am :)

I'm hoping to start reading a book that was referred to me by a dear friend and I shall make a post about that book as soon as I get into it!

Until then, have some sweet summer fun!

Hateful Words

As I was browsing through my different tabs on my computer, I was looking through my Pinterest and came across this photo:

Caption: They all weigh 150lbs. It's not just about weight, do you know your BMI?

Looking at this picture, you notice that all the women are different in size (height/distribution of weight). So why do we go through all the stress of going by our weight? Why don't we just make a goal of being fit and healthy. That's what makes you really feel good about yourself. Looking at numbers and comparing yourself to others isn't going to help. Everyone was built differently, so don't go comparing yourself to others!

You hear me? [this is where you nod your head "yes"]

Ok, good you understand, but this lady didn't and was quite cruel if I do say so myself:

 Thumbnail of Jayne Surrena
Jayne Surrena
but it is, there is no excuse for letting yourself get to that point. these women in the photo look disgusting. go vegan and you wont ever have any of these issues. i would end it all if i could not fit into a size 4-6 , that should go for all of us.

Oh, really? You would just end it all if you were bigger than a 6? That's sad and superficial. This lady really got my blood boiling. There were more hateful comments that she made towards others and I tried to do my part and report her hatefulness. [I mean seriously lady?!]

It not only made me angry, but made me sad to know that there are those types of people out there. It also kinda hurt my feelings. I may not be 150lbs, but I sure wish I was because if I were I would be dang happy!

Don't listen to people with the viewpoint of the lady person above. You were made in the image of the one and only God. Whether you be big or small, you are beautiful. I can say this, yes I am overweight, but I keep myself active and I try my best to eat healthy, but most of all I thank God for giving me the pleasure of having a perfectly healthy body to live my life in. Don't get discouraged if you're struggling to lose weight, you can do it! Don't give up! There is no set weight that anyone should be, we're all shaped differently, we all gain our weight differently. So when you make a goal for yourself, don't go saying:

"I wanna be ___lbs"

Say something like this:

"I want to be fit and feel better"

I don't know about you, but felling better is a better motivator for me than a goal number that I probably can't reach b/c it's ridiculous.

All in all:
Don't be like said person above. Be an encourager and be a motivator! Don't be a hater. Haters are hateful and I don't want my lovely readers to be hateful. That would make me sad :(

Well, I just thought I would let y'all hear my lil words of wisdom for the day! Have a blessed day!

Love you all!!

*P.S. There's no way I could go vegan. I love meat way too much!

Procrastination

Don't tell a soul, but I'm doing that very thing at this very moment.

I know, bad me :( but I can't get motivated to do any of my work, but it NEEDS to get done otherwise I'll want to pull my hair out tomorrow. Now we don't want that do we? (No, we do not)

Also, I mean, this is my latest post since last year! Talk about a bad blogger. (Don't hate me) I just don't have the time during these semesters of the oh so wonderful college life.

I mean, I'll give myself some credit for being a good student because yesterday I got all of my work + some done yesterday. I deserve an award. I'm just saying ;)

Hopefully I'll be able to make more blogs in the future, ones of ya know, actual entertainment/cool ideas/exciting plans.....well...something like that anyway!

Well, if you're doing what I'm doing right now...STOP IT! YOU GET YOUR WORK DONE NOW! I'm going to try my hardest!!

You hear me kids? Never procrastinate! It doesn't do you any good and just stresses you out in the end and then your sleeping schedule is off and it's all downhill from there. You'll really learn once you get to college, these professors don't kid around. They mean bizzniss!

Hope everyone had an awesome spring break and hope that you aren't putting your work off and being a responsible (insert occupation here)!!

Hopefully I'll be seeing more of you lovely people in the future!
